Hi Sophie, tell us about SOKA Studio
SOKA Studio Ltd was founded in 2015 by me, Sophie Karaer, the Director. I’m an award-winning graphic designer with over 10 years of industry experience, which I drew upon to form my own creative agency, SOKA. In little time, SOKA’s client list grew, mostly through referrals, and the increased workload meant I needed to take on staff. Now, we have a team of five people!
What does SOKA do?
SOKA Studio is a Liverpool based, award-winning graphic design agency. We specialise in working with SMEs from across the UK and internationally to create logos, brand palettes, websites and promotional content for both print and screen-based marketing. We thrive off seeing the positive differences that our design work makes to the businesses we work with.
Why did you choose a desk space at Avenue HQ Mann Island for SOKA?
I moved to Liverpool in June of last year, and although we’ve predominantly always worked remotely, as a team we like to socialise and meet new people. After spending many months in lockdown with no other option of working from home, I knew I needed a desk space away from the home office. After a little research of the best offices in Liverpool and a wander around the city, I found Avenue HQ. The location and amenities were exactly what we needed.
How long have you been a member of Avenue HQ Mann Island?
SOKA has been a member of Avenue HQ Mann Island since November 2020, so just over a year now.
What do you enjoy most about having a desk at Avenue HQ?
Our team has always worked remotely, so it is just me that has a desk at Avenue HQ, and that gives us great independence, which means we’re able to work with clients from across the UK and abroad.
What’s the future for SOKA Studio?
SOKA have been nominated for Creative Agency of the Year at the City of Liverpool Business Awards and Digital and Creative Business of the Year 2021, so we are excited to see what happens there! We are looking forward to seeing what this year brings, establishing our Liverpool roots further, meeting new people and continuing to strengthen connections - plus having a team reunion!
