Meet The Team: Jess, Marketing Associate

First things first, what’s your name?

Jess Sharpe

Company Role? 

Marketing Associate

Now, what does that actually mean?

So I’m the Social Media Co-ordinator for Avenue HQ and all of our hospitality sites, East Parade Social, St Paul’s Social and soon to be Mann Island Social. I’m also the In-House Designer, leading on projects where we need creative visuals, brochures and print material. Oh and I do photography too!

Where’s your favourite place to get a bit of work done?

At the moment my favourite place to get a bit of work done is in St Paul’s Social. Purely because it’s a really chilled and laid back vibe, you can get a nice coffee while you’re doing your work, and all the staff are really friendly. They are always interested in what I’m working on so it’s nice to share that.

What’s your proudest moment at work?

It was at the Christmas Party… when we’d just introduced Employee of The Month. After we all finished our dinner it was announced that I was the first employee of the month. I almost cried! Yeah, that’s definitely my proudest moment, as I had only been at AHQ for two months.

What do you hope to achieve over the next 6 months?

Personally, I’d like to travel more, because I feel like I haven’t explored enough of the world (yet!), take good photos, eat nice food, and just that really, simple. Professionally, we’re opening Mann Island Social soon, and that’ll be a really big move for us. It was our original site and I feel like this has been a long time coming for the members that work there. I feel like we can do it really well for them, they deserve it. So I’m really looking forward to seeing the final product.

What’s your 3pm pick-me-up?

It has to be a hot chocolate from SPS, I love something sweet in the afternoon. Also, putting on a podcast from ‘Stuff You Should Know’ – there’s something therapeutic about absorbing useless facts.

If you had to listen to one song all day at AHQ what would it be & why?

Can’t Stop by Red Hot Chili Peppers, it’s my favourite song and it gets me pumped!
